Sham is a coming-of-age comedy with a whiff of Billy Elliot, about three brothers making their way without parents in a miserable town in rural Ireland. To avoid his grim destiny as a chicken sexer in the local hatchery, the youngest brother, Johnny, pretends to be an Australian surfer. Only trouble is, Johnny’s pale as balls, he can't swim, he's never actually been to Oz... and he's no clue how to surf.

He is seduced into training the local Gaelic football team and turns them from perennial losers into contenders while they teach him a thing or two about life. True to the genre but done with humour and irreverence. Packed with characters full of passion for life, Over the Bar is feel good fun and entertainment.
