Michael Garland and Paul Donovan formed film and television production outfit, Grand Pictures, in 2000. The company has made ten feature films (including Death of a Superhero) and eleven TV series or singles (including Paths to Freedom and Trivia). Grand produces quality popular drama and comedy with a mix of new and experienced talent for both cinema and television. Next up is series 3 of Moone Boy.
Aside from its own raft of projects in development with the support of both MEDIA and Irish Film Board Slate Funding, Grand acts as a co-producer for foreign production companies who wish to avail of Ireland’s Section 481 tax incentive scheme and Irish Film Board production funds. Recently, Grand closed Section 481 transactions on a €20m 12 hour TV series entitled 'Titanic - Blood and Steel' in co-production with DAP Italy along with the first two series of 'Moone Boy', a six half-hour comedy drama series for Sky in co-production with Baby Cow and Sprout. Grand Pictures has access to the best of Irish writing, directing and acting talent along with top crews to produce quality popular comedy and drama on time and on budget.
